See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. -Isaiah 43:19
I remember my Sunday school teacher telling me about camellias for the first time a few years ago. She said "they bloom in the winter, just when you REALLY need them" and I've found that to be quite the truth.
I planted these camellias late this fall and this is the very first bloom, but they're full of lots of buds. And as I've daily stared them down, willing them to bloom, I've thought of this verse. I've felt hope for spring, and I've remembered that God is always making a way for new things, even in the darkest winter.
I highly recommend planting a few camellias of your own! I've been so pleased with these from Wilson Bros Garden and they have an amazing selection. This variety is the Nuccio's Cameo Pink Camellia Japonica and she's a real beauty!
