Those first years as a brand new therapist are NO JOKE. They're typically spent working in community mental health, with long hours and little pay, wondering just what you've gotten yourself into! As tough as those years were, I wouldn't trade them for anything. They were invaluable in terms of gaining competence, experience, confidence, and just plain toughness. If you're there, know that you're a hero! And that things do get easier:)
I've linked a few simple, tried and true supplies that I would've LOVED to have had back when I was working in day treatment programs. I continue to use these daily in my work with children and teens now and find them very helpful. This is certainly not an exhaustive list, so please let me know if you're looking for something specific.
